Teenager critically injured
A teenager was in critical condition last night after a motorcycle was in collision with a truck and car yesterday.
The 17-year-old was the passenger on a motorcycle heading east between Khyber Pass and Longford Road in Warwick when the accident happened at around noon. He sustained serious head and internal injuries.
A Police spokesman said: "It appears that the truck was travelling east on Middle Road and the auxiliary cycle was behind the truck, also travelling east.
"The car was travelling in the opposite direction. It appears that the truck slowed down and the cycle attempted to manoeuvre around it, however the cycle was unable to and collided with the truck and the westbound car.
"The rider of the cycle was not injured, however the cycle's pillion passenger sustained serious head and internal injuries."
The teenager, from Paget, was admitted to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital where his condition was last night described as "critical".
The drivers of the truck and car were both uninjured.
Police are appealing for any witnesses to contact P.c. Akinmola at the Roads Policing Unit on 295 0011.
