Renewed witness appeal for highway beating

The Bermuda Police Service has issued another appeal for witnesses to the alleged assault of a 19-year-old woman outside Howard's Mini Mart in Devonshire on November 23.

Police are looking for anyone who may have seen two young black men, believed to be in their 20s, who are between five feet, eight and five feet, ten inches tall and wearing dark coloured heavyweight jackets and black helmets with dark face visors outside the store on Middle Road, Devonshire around 8.30 p.m. that day.

The woman, from Hamilton Parish, was riding her motorcycle east on Middle Road, when she was approached by the two motorcycle riders — whom she did not know.

They forced her to stop, and one of the men punched the woman in her face twice, knocking her unconscious.

When she came back to consciousness some three hours later, her cycle was nearby, and nothing had been taken from her.

She was treated in hospital for facial injuries. Anyone with information into this incident or anyone with information are asked to contact Hamilton CID at 295-0011.
