Bay and the Great Sound -- only to return to a flooded station at Barrs Park.

Two young men, age 22 and 23, had to be rescued when their 12-foot dinghy capsized off of Devonshire Bay at 11 a.m. yesterday.

The Heron 3 responded to an emergency call from a member of the public and picked up the young men.

The dinghy sank and was not recovered but both young men were unhurt and taken to shore.

On the way home, Heron 3 pulled the 36-foot sailing vessel Tonka free after it ran aground in the Great Sound at 12.45 p.m. with 3 people onboard.

The boat suffered no serious damage.

Heron 3 returned to base -- and found out the Marine Police building at Barrs Park needed to be rescued as well after a sewer blockage prevented rainwater from draining, flooding the station with an inch of water.

Two fire vehicles and six personnel were dispatched and dealt with the flood.

There was no damage done to the Police station.
