Weekend concerts

The Bermuda Philharmonic Society Orchestra and Chorus and guest soloists Mrs.Elizabeth Muir-Lewis and Bermuda's Mr. Austin Thomas will perform at the Town Square in St. George's on Saturday and at the Clocktower in Dockyard on Sunday.

Elizabeth Muir-Lewis and Bermuda's Mr. Austin Thomas will perform at the Town Square in St. George's on Saturday and at the Clocktower in Dockyard on Sunday.

The music will be conducted by Mr. Graham Garton and the selection will include classical and popular favourites such as Offenbach's "Can-Can'', the first movement of Beethoven's Symphony No. 5, Elgar's "Pomp and Circumstance'' and the famous spiritual "Swing Low, Sweet Chariot''.

Lt. Col. Brendan Hollis will be Master of Ceremonies.

Saturday's concert in St. George's begins at 7.30 p.m. and the concert at Dockyard at 3 p.m.

Both are sponsored by the MarketPlace, A-1, and Modern Mart stores, and BGA/Weldon in conjunction with Proctor and Gamble. The Bermuda Arts Council, Sun Control and Sound Advice are also sponsors.
