Writer is misinformed

October 6, 2012Dear SirI just finished reading your letter, (‘A Baffling Situation’, The Royal Gazette, November 6) baffling indeed, you were either not informed or misinformed by someone. Please can I make a suggestion, you need to write a letter or call Police Headquarters and ask for Insp Phil Lewis, who is in charge of the Traffic Unit, he will be able to give you the correct advice as to what you need to do. It looks to me like you were bullied by the girls’ parents. I have been reading several Letters to the Editor on the same topic, even Anxious Annie wrote an excellent letter, the powers that be are not listening, but you have lots of supporters out there that have come across the same kind of situations.Yellow lines are for no parking, not overtaking. But it looks like in your case, if you had your indicator on and were turning right and she hit you from the side on your driver’s door, that would put her on the wrong side of the road for starters, and she ran into you, so therefore she is in the wrong, since she would be driving without due care and that is an offence, so that means her insurance has to pay for your car and her bike also if it is damaged, depending on her insurance coverage, and hopefully she has insurance. Our roads are a public safety nightmare, accidents daily, they are not just speeding, those bikes I swear are on jet fuel, knocked down walls, overturned cars, you name it we have it. Good luck to you, do not give up, you need assistance, something is wrong with your picture, baffled is an understatement.DEBBIE MASTERSFormer Council MemberBermuda Advanced Motorist Institute
