Former Bermuda teacher released on bail
The former Bermuda teacher accused of sexually abusing seven children at a Huntsville, Alabma school was released from custody yesterday after posting a $1 million bond.The Huntsville Times reported on its website that Harvey Aubin Knotts, 40, was released from the Madison County jail around 3:30 p.m. yesterday, said Harry Hobbs, a Huntsville Police Department spokesman. Knotts, who lives in Madison, is on house arrest and must wear a monitoring device and report to a probation officer.Knotts, who was arrested on April 6, is charged with ten counts of sexual abuse of a child under 12. The case involves seven female students, all aged 9 or 10, according to court documents.Bermuda Police have confirmed he is a person of interest in a case involving sexual contact with a minor.
