Bermuda-based Stirling Cooke Brown Holdings Limited said this week that company director Peter Christie has resigned effective immediately.

The resignation was said to be because of Mr. Christie's intention to accept a position that would be incompatible with his continued service as a Stirling Cooke director.

CEO Stephen Crane said: "Peter Christie has been an excellent director and strong supporter of the company since his election to the Board two years ago. We will miss his valuable contributions but wish him well in his future endeavours."

The company said it had no intention to replace Mr. Christie on the board, which now has seven members, four of which are non- executive directors.

Stirling Cooke Brown Holdings Limited is a Bermuda holding company, which, through its subsidiaries, provides insurance services and products through its subsidiaries located in London, Bermuda and the United States.
