Christmas spirit in a big way. For gardeners have created a festive message -- Peace on Earth -- using hundreds of flowers in a crescent-shaped flower bed outside Camden, the Premier's offical residence. The red-and-white message, flanked by two doves and using more than 700 begonias, was the brainwave of Botanical Gardens curator Sarah Vallis. She said: "I came up with the idea, then the staff came up with suggestions for the wording and voted on it.'' The stunning Christmas tidings were created in less than a day by the four-strong team of foreman Roger Paris, Mavis Place, Albert Casey and Raymond Beach. Ms Vallis said that the begonia display could last all the way through to the annual Agricultural Exhibition in April. But she added: "We will probably take it out before that and maybe put something new in for the exhibition.''
