The junk mail has been dropping in e-mail boxes of Northrock users from a group calling itself newebiz yusa.com.

Although it claims it is not an illegal get-rich-quick-scam, it also boasts huge returns with one man, known only as Eric, claiming he had made $243 the first month but was making nearly $5,000 six months later.

A Police spokeswoman said: "Officers in the Commercial Crime Department were not aware of this latest e-mail that has been circulating and have noted the absence of a lot of detail, other than the contact numbers provided.'' Sgt. Edward Davies noted that the e-mail appears to "have all the classic hallmarks of a pyramid scheme''.

He advised residents against becoming involved in it, adding that it was "more than likely'' that persons participating would lose their money.

Pyramid schemes promise participants cash for signing up others but they cannot possibly work for the last people joining because they will have no one else to bring on board so they lose their money.

JEEP WINDOW SMASHED CRM Jeep window smashed A vandal smashed the rear window of a jeep parked on Richmond Road in Pembroke sometime on Saturday night, the Police reported yesterday.

The complainant said he secured the jeep and returned shortly before midnight to find someone had smashed its rear window and broken off a side rear-view mirror.

Nothing appeared to have been stolen from the jeep.
