Seminar to be held on discrimination against Black men
Antiracism campaigners will hold a forum on how Black men have been pictured as inferior and a threat to the corporate world next week.
Citizens Uprooting Racism in Bermuda has assembled a panel to discuss “Black Masculinity and Legacies of Subjugation: Negotiating Power in the Corporate World and Beyond”.
A CURB spokeswoman said: “The community forum and panel discussion will reflect on the racial ideology that has framed blackness and masculinity for centuries, and how its ideas persist into the present in corporate spaces and beyond – ideas that, at their core, have traditionally undermined his humanity and framed him as inferior and a threat.”
Panellists will include men’s rights advocate Darius Richardson, a men’s rights activist of Change Your Mind, Change Your Life, Cordell Riley, a statistician and CURB vice-president and social psychologist and Robert Livingston, a social psychologist, writer and Harvard University lecturer.
The webinar will be held next Thursday, April 29, from 6.30pm to 8pm.
