The Deli in Washington Mall will close tomorrow with the loss of six full-time jobs.

Owner Peter Grant said he had enough of running the business but denied claims that he wasn?t going to pay required redundancy.

He said: ?They will get what they are entitled to under the union agreement.?

He said after six years he wanted a change in life.

?Everyone who has run a business like this before told me after five years you will be tired. I am closing it because I want to go somewhere else and do something else.?

Staff member Sylvia Christopher, 21, said she has no job to go to after working there for more than two years.

She understands the business is being bought by the owners of Mannies in Washington Mall.

?People are saying other people are being hired yet we are being kicked to the curb,? Ms Christopher said last night.

But Mr. Grant denied selling the business but said he had simply surrendered the lease to Washington Properties.
