June is normally a busy month for Bermuda accommodations and the added attraction of the Tall Ships 2000 event has helped fill any left over rooms.

A host of activities were planned around the ships' visit and those have helped existing overseas marketing efforts.

Harmony Club president Billy Griffith confirmed the all-inclusive resort was "solidly booked''.

He said a number of visitors had based their holidays around the tall ships, but added that it was difficult to tell what percentage of all their guests had been attracted by the event.

The Fairmont Hamilton Princess, whose guests should have a good vantage spot for the tall ships, was "pretty much full'', according to general manager and vice president Michael Kaile.

Mr. Kaile noted that beside the people who were already here for the duration of the event, TV and radio coverage would provide Bermuda with plenty of free publicity overseas.
