Police spokesperson Evelyn James Barnett said Police were looking for a dark-skinned man of medium build, clean shaven with a close haircut.

The suspect reportedly approached a 39-year-old Warwick woman on Brunswick Street around 2.15 a.m. Friday and asked for a cigarette.

When the woman told the man she did not have any, he snatched a small `dungaree' pouch which was attached to her left wrist.

The man then ran off towards the Court Street area.

And Mrs. James Barnett said Police were also investigating a break-in at a Devonshire home.

A 19-year-old Devonshire woman and her roommate left their Lookout Lane residence for about 40 minutes and returned to discover the place had been broken into.

A quantity of cash was stolen from the two bedrooms.

Police inquiries are continuing.

Officers from eastern CID are investigating claims by a 46-year-old female visitor who says she was the victim of a 12-year-old pick pocket.

The woman told Police she was riding the number 11 bus Wednesday evening into St. George and was sitting next to a young boy of about 12 years of age. She reported the boy -- while seated -- began fighting and during the commotion she felt a pat against her side, but assumed it was due to the fighting.

She told Police however she suspected something was wrong when the boy -- after leaving the bus at Crawl Hill -- ran off into a residential area.

The woman subsequently checked her pockets and discovered a quantity of US money was missing. The boy is described as brown-skinned and was wearing a white t-shirt, black shorts, and sneakers.
