treatments from a Paris-based company, said the local Guinot distributor Mr.

Michael J. Ternent, president and CEO of Bersalon Co. Ltd.

The treatments -- multizones/multifunctions body treatment and aromatic facial -- are expected to be launched at the Sonesta Beach spa in November and December respectively, he added.

These treatments should be popular -- for both female and male clients, he commented.

According to Mr. Ternent, there is a growing demand from the Island's businessmen to visit spas. The ratio of female clients to male clients is about 75/25 and the gap is gradually closing, he added.

"Businessmen find treatments to be great stress relievers and the service is confidential and entirely private,'' he said.

The aromatic facial treatment will be 20, 30 or 40 minutes. Even the longest aromatic treatment will cost less than the price for the current deep-cleaning facial cathiodermie treatment, also known as hydradermie, which costs about $50-$65, he explained. More specific prices for the two new treatments have yet to be finalised, noted Mr. Ternent.

"The aromatic treatment is an all-natural plant-extract -- this is something we believe in from a business and therapeutic point of view,'' commented Mr.

Ternent.

In connection with the addition of the two new Guinot treatments, Ms Veronique Ros, an international training manager with Guinot, is in Bermuda to train a Bersalon staff member at the Sonesta spa. The training includes 48 hours of instruction over four days.

Ms Ros, based in Paris, said she travels worldwide to Guinot treatment distributors working with beauty therapists to ensure consistency of delivery.

"Multizones/multifunctions is very popular in France and very personal.

Treatment can be concentrated on one part of the body. The treatments are also flexible and can be personalised for the client's time and budget,'' she noted.

Guinot is a privately-owned company based in France and owned by Mr. Jean Mondin, a pharmaceutical chemist by profession.
