Bermuda Container Line Ltd. has seen an uptick in business in recent months, but not enough to bring cargo volumes in line with last year.

President Geoffrey Frith, in a letter to shareholders at the time of a recent dividend payment, said for the first seven months of the year cargo volume for Bermuda Container Line Ltd. and Somers Isles Shipping Ltd. was ?slightly behind? the same period last year.

However, in the last couple of months the company saw a surge in cargo volumes. Mr. Frith said the company?s two container ships, and the , have operated a number of voyages at full capacity.
