KPMG staff make a difference to Paget Island
KPMG staff took a day off earlier this week and rolled up their sleeves to help maintain Paget Island where the Outward Bound programme is run.
Part of the Make a Difference Day (MaDD) initiative, employees helped improve landscaping and were involved in painting and cleaning.
“As part of KPMG’s ongoing commitment to serve the community, utilising the talents of their staff, KPMG in Bermuda donated time, community service, and useful equipment to complete the following tasks,” read a company statement.
Mark Norman, Executive Director of Outward Bound, stated: “The Charitable Board for Outward Bound Bermuda appreciates the assistance of KPMG in Bermuda with a community clean up day at our Paget Island base.
“With only one full-time staff member, keeping up with maintenance requirements on the Island is often a much neglected task, so it is absolutely amazing to have had this many people in one day to give us a jump start to our winter programme after a very busy summer.”
Added Jamila Godwin, Marketing Assistant at KPMG in Bermuda: “MaDD has proven to be a success with completing assigned tasks in such a short period of time. The overall impact and support given to Outward Bound has provided great satisfaction and a sense of pride to all who participated in our annual community initiative.”
