A prominent physician who had buckets of standing water breeding mosquitoes around his house was fined $150 in Magistrates' Court yesterday.

Dr. John Patton, 59, of Keith Hall Road, Warwick, pleaded guilty to the charge of breeding mosquito larvae on June 24.

Crown counsel Graveney Bannister said the Department of Health had visited Patton's address on three occasions and he still had standing water.
