Ashley eyes PB

Track runner Ashley Couper aims to break her personal best in the 1,500 metres as she gears up for two international meets later this year.

Couper has her sights on the CAC Games in Grenada and the Pan-Ams in the Dominican Republic, and after a fine performance at the Mt. SAC meet in California recently is confident of meeting her target.

She ran 4:20.53 at that event, well under the qualifying time for the Pan-Am Games.

"It felt really good," said the Nike Farm team runner. "I was really happy with my race because it felt comfortable most of the way, whereas my race three weeks prior and six seconds slower felt like a real struggle the whole time!

"I'm excited for a series of races coming up over the next month and hope to better my 1,500m time and go under my personal record of 4:18."
