Islandwide on Tuesday as residents scrambled for issues marking an election that will go down in history.

But Royal Gazette general manager Keith Jensen said to accommodate high demand, the election edition will be reprinted and available in tomorrow's newspaper.

The issues trumpeting the PLP's landslide victory were being purchased as collector's items, with people seeking to preserve the copy by having it laminated.

One person even called The Royal Gazette and offered as much as $50 for a single copy.

Mr. Jensen said in addition to demand because of a PLP victory, customers view the issue as a historical document.

"Normally we would've reprinted for Wednesday's newspaper but it's a public holiday,'' he said.

And Mr. Jensen said that although 2,500 copies were printed in addition to the usual circulation of 16,400, the newspapers were sold out everywhere.
