attractions of Bermuda at a series of "Dark 'n Stormy'' nights in Milan and Rome this week.

Director of Tourism Mr. Gary Phillips said the receptions -- which are being hosted by the Department of Tourism -- feature the music of Hubert Smith Sr., Bermuda fish chowder with black rum and sherry peppers and Dark 'n Stormies.

Tourism Minister the Hon. David Dodwell said this was "a unique opportunity'' to show Bermuda to the Italian market and illustrate "what Italian clients and readers can expect from a holiday in Bermuda''.

He added he felt the Department's efforts would "generate noticeable increases in visitors from Italy''.

The first presentation was held in Milan's Excelsior Gallia Hotel last night, after Mr. Dodwell arrived from the World Travel Market in London, and the other will be held tomorrow night at Rome's Hotel Eden.

Joining Mr. Dodwell are Bermuda's representative in Italy Ms Annette Callana, Bermuda's Tourism Director in the UK and Europe Ms Pippa Grive and the Department of Tourism's Public Relations Manager Mr. Charles Webbe.
