The Royal Gazette learned yesterday that Jamal Emory and Calvin Burgess are being held at the Houston County Jail after being stopped at the Interdiction Intercontinental Airport having come across the Mexican border.

Efforts to contact the jail last night were unsuccessful.

DODWELL IN NEW YORK TOU Dodwell in New York Tourism Minister the Hon. David Dodwell was scheduled to meet with the US travel press for the first time yesterday.

Mr. Dodwell, who took over the post last month, travelled to New York city yesterday to preview the new November to March marketing initiatives for the 1995-1996 tourism season.

The initiatives include the Temperature Guarantee programme and "The Right Place At The Right Time'' meetings packages.

Mr. Dodwell was scheduled to meet with the travel press at a luncheon held yesterday in his honour.

Trade publications including Travel Agent, Corporate Meetings & Incentives, and Tour & Travel News, and editors from consumer publications such as Town & Country and Travel & Leisure were scheduled to attend the luncheon.

Tourism director Mr. Gary Phillips, manager of public relations Mr. Charles Webbe, and director of sales Mr. Paul Zar were also on hand.

APPEAL FOR WITNESSES AC Appeal for witnesses Police are appealing for witnesses of a two-vehicle road accident which occurred yesterday to come forward.

The accident occurred around 12.30 a.m. on Middle Road in Southampton, near the Lightbourne hardware store.

Police said a motorcycle rider was travelling east. As the rider passed a line of stationary traffic, a Fiat Uno car pulled out and collided with the motorcycle.

The car driver reportedly assisted the rider. But they did not exchange details about who they were.
