Wilson inspires Blazers win

In form: Temiko Wilson of Boulevard, shown in this file photo against Devonshire Colts, scored for the fifth time in three games.

Boulevard 2Southampton Rangers 1In-form striker Temiko Wilson continued his rich vein of goalscoring form as Boulevard beat Southampton Rangers at BAA Field on Saturday night.Ugly scenes slightly marred Blazers' victory though after a fight broke out between spectators which caused the game to be halted for around 15 minutes to ensure the safety of the players. The brawl started in the BAA car park but spilled over onto the pitch in the seventh minute of the match with police having to lead four men from the ground.Soon after the re-start Southampton Rangers opened the scoring through Denis Russell who held off his marker before turning and shooting past Blazers goalkeeper Shejaun Swan. Blazers responded immediately when Ajani Gibbon's free-kick a minute later took a deflection past Rangers keeper Jason Smith.Rangers made a bright start to the second half with Travis Wilkinson forcing a save from Swan with a volley before Russell almost grabbed his second with a header which he couldn't direct on goal. At the other end, Blazers were showing glimpses of attacking intent and went ahead when Wilson scored his fifth goal in three games with a first-time finish past Smith.Blazers president Lou Matthews said the unsavoury incident early in the game had not taken the shine off his team's win.“I didn't actually see the incident but from what I'm told those involved were some well-known troublemakers.”Police said that of the four men initially detained, two were subsequently released without charge. The remaining individuals, a 20-year-old St. George's man and a 22-year-old Warwick man, were arrested for using offensive words and outstanding warrants respectively.Boulevard: S Swan, A Gibbons, T Wilson, A Simmons, J Davis, A Foggy, R Wilson, J Cropwell, R Burgess, K LathanSubstitutes not used: T StowellYellow cards: J Cropwell, A FoggyGoals: Gibbons 13, Wilson, 65Southampton Rangers: J Smith, I Mallory, S Williams, K Harrison, M Williams, J Charles, V Perithecia, T Wilkinson, E Allyou, J Dill, D RussellSubstitutes not used: A Burrows, J Cassey, M Iris, K SymondsGoals: Russell, 11Referee: A FrancisMan of the match: Davis (Boulevard)
