Centre on Philanthropy to hold second 'Power of One' conference
Speakers from the United States, the UK and Canada will be at the Centre on Philanthropy's second biennial third sector conference 'The Power of One' next month.
Workshops will focus on fund-raising, governance, grant-making, strategic planning and measurement for the non-profit community.
More than 200 people are expected for the event on Friday and Saturday, February 27 and 28.
Executive director Pam Barit Nolan said in a press release: "The Centre's mission is to increase the overall effectiveness of the non-profit sector, and one of our primary strategies for achieving this is through training and education.
"This conference allows our stakeholders – non-profits, corporate/foundation donors, volunteers, faith-based organisations – to benefit from increased knowledge in key areas, hearing from first-class speakers without the expense of travelling to an overseas event.
"We are confident that all attendees will leave inspired and energised to continue working towards a better Bermuda."
Workshops will include:
• Getting your board productively, joyfully, cheerfully involved in fund-raising;
• Building your non-profit's organisational capacity;
• What every non-profit needs to know about technology.
The conference will be held at the Fairmont Hamilton Princess, with special prices for individuals and faith-based groups. Visit www.centreonphilanthropy.org for more information.
