Pollock gets appeal date

of manslaughter will appeal his conviction later this month.

Kevin Pollock was jailed two weeks ago after being found guilty of pushing customer Craig McGavern down a flight of stairs outside the bar in the Emporium building on Front Street last summer.

Pollock's lawyer Mark Pettingill will fight to get the conviction quashed when the Court of Appeal meets on May 31.

An earlier application by Mr. Pettingill to have his client released on bail until a decision on the appeal has been made was rejected by Puisne Judge Norma Wade Miller.
