New voice with Police

Robin Simmons is the new media relations assistant for the Bermuda Police.

The Bermuda Police Service has added one more voice to its fold as Robin Simmons joined the organisation recently as their media relations assistant.

Does the name ring a bell, but you cannot quite place his face? It may be because although Mr. Simmons was a journalist at the Bermuda Broadcasting Company (BBC), no one ever saw him. He worked primarily on the radio.

But Mr. Simmons, who holds a Master's degree in mass communications, said he was ready to step into the public eye.

“People usually call on the Police when they are in need. I would like to add to the Police's aim of being a visual, positive entity,” he said. Mr. Simmons, who worked closely with the Police while employed at the BBC, said he is looking forward to his new job with anticipation: “Now I get to see what's happening on the other side.”
