Robbed of Cup Match takings

A 64-year-old man was robbed of his Cup Match profits on Friday night.The victim told Police that around 10.50 p.m. that night, he drove his truck to his warehouse on St. David's Road after working at Cup Match.As he exited the truck two unknown men demanded money and assaulted him.

A 64-year-old man was robbed of his Cup Match profits on Friday night.

The victim told Police that around 10.50 p.m. that night, he drove his truck to his warehouse on St. David's Road after working at Cup Match.

As he exited the truck two unknown men demanded money and assaulted him.

The culprits eventually took the victim's wallet from his pants and bank bag from the truck and escaped on foot.

The wallet contained a quantity of cash and personal items and the bank bag contained a quantity of cash.

The St. George's man's wallet was subsequently recovered at the scene minus the cash.

He sustained a cut to his forehead and abrasion to his body. He attended King Edward VII Memorial Hospital for treatment of his injuries and has since been released.

The suspects are described as two black males, one wearing a white shirt and long blue jeans and the other wearing a red crash helmet.

Police are appealing for any witnesses to this incident or anyone with any information to contact the St. George's Criminal Investigation Unit on 293 2222.
