A St George’s man who crashed his car into a Southampton wall was arrested yesterday on suspicion of drunk driving.According to a Police Spokesman, officers attended the reported collision on Middle Road, near the junction with Avocado Lane.“It appears that a car was being driven along Middle Road when it collided with a wall,” he said. “The car received extensive front end damage as a result, however there were no reported injuries.“The driver, a 36-year-old St. George’s man, was subsequently arrested on suspicion of impaired driving.”Officers diverted traffic from the area for around an hour, directing traffic onto Lighthouse Road to the east and Church Road to the west as efforts were made to remove the damaged vehicle.Inquiries into this collision are ongoing.
