Tickets to the upcoming April concert of famed tenor Jose Carreras have yet to arrive on the Island although local selling agents have been inundated with fan enquires.

The ticket for the April 4 concert at the Maritime Museum were to be sold at three Hamilton stores - 27th Century Boutique, Music Box and Sound Stage. But the tickets have apparently been delayed at the overseas printer.

27th Century owner Sharon Bartram said she continues to get daily requests for tickets.

She said it was fairly normal for a large, overseas act concert to begin selling tickets three months in advance.

She said concert promoter Buddy Hill of Triangle Enterprises last contacted her last Monday to tell her the tickets would be delayed.

"He said there was a delay getting the tickets from overseas and he would be in touch when they arrived," she said.

Mr. Hill did not return calls from The Royal Gazette yesterday, however, earlier this week he told a reporter he did not know the source of the problem.

"Mr. Hofer (the New York-based promoter) is handling that," he said. The last time I spoke with him he said the tickets were coming. He should have them now."

Calls to Mr. Hofer were not returned yesterday.

But when asked whether the highly anticipated concert was in jeopardy, Mr. Hill said that was unlikely.

"Not as far as I know, no way," he said.
