Nika Seymour of Sandys Parish admitted stealing the $69.95 shoes from St.

Michael's Store on Reid Street on March 26.

Insp. Peter Duffy, prosecuting, said Seymour was spotted entering the store's shoe department at 3 p.m. He said she placed the pair of shoes in a bag she was carrying and went as if to leave the building.

The store's manager stopped Seymour at the door and a search revealed the shoes hidden in the bag. Police were called and Seymour admitted she had intended to steal them and only had $2 in her pocket.

Duty counsel Mr. Edward King said that a social inquiry report might be useful in light of Seymour's age and previously unblemished record.

Senior Magistrate the Wor. Will Francis ordered her to return to court on May 14 and released her on $400 bail and a surety.
