US visitor dies while snorkelling

An American tourist died on the weekend following a medical emergency at Snorkel Park in Dockyard.Maurice Comtois, 76, was snorkelling in the area on Saturday afternoon when he became unresponsive, according to a Police spokesman.“The American visitor was given CPR at the scene and transported to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance where he was later pronounced dead by an on-call doctor,” the spokesman said.“There were no suspicious circumstances reported, however an autopsy is anticipated in due course.“The Bermuda Police Service extends condolences to the family and friends of Mr Comtois.”
