PTB edged Skandia Sabres 17-16 as Dean Douglas and Dexter Basden each hit home runs, with both going four-for-five at the plate while Shaun Tucker went three-for-five with two homers and four RBI. Douglas had four RBI and Basden two.

Nick Frost's sterling four-for-four could not pull off victory for Skandia as Stewart McRae provided solid support with two hits in four at bats with a homer and four RBI. Tucker was the winning pitcher while Rob Eastham suffered the loss.

Marsh & McLennan also squeezed out a victory, 15-14 over Arthur Andersen, with Ron Graham leading the offence with four hits. Nisala Weerasooriya was two-for-four and Gordy Veale three-for-four in support.

Brothers Tony and Mark Cordeiro led Arthur Andersen with four-for-four and three-for-four respectively while Nick Hinton was two-for-four with a home run -- all in a losing cause. Weerasooriya was the winning pitcher while Hinton was the loser.

BF&M left no doubts about the margin of their victory as they beat Centre Re 24-12 thanks to five-for-five batting performances from Jose Ferreira and Ken Williams and a two hits from Kris Soares. Robin Hamill of Centre Re went three-for-four and Chuck Gramling two-for-four. Alan Winston was the winning pitcher while George Hutchings suffered the loss.
