Thorpe admits UK charge
A Bermudian has admitted trying to smuggle more than $100,000 worth of cocaine into the UK.
Mechanic Genghis Khublai Khan Thorpe, 25, of Pembroke, appeared at Haywards Heath Magistrates? Court on Wednesday.
He pleaded guilty to drug smuggling and was remanded in custody to be sentenced at Croydon Crown Court at a later date.
Thorpe was arrested at London?s Gatwick Airport in January, along with Malachi Eugene Wilson Eversley, 24, also from Pembroke. The pair were stopped and searched after flying in from St. Lucia.
Eversley also appeared at court on Wednesday charged with drug smuggling. He did not enter a plea and was remanded in custody to appear again at Haywards Heath Magistrates? Court on March 15, when he will be committed to crown court.
