Man denies stealing food, drink from Fairmont Southampton

A 51-year-old has denied stealing nearly $1,400 worth of food and drink from the Fairmont Southampton Hotel.Randolph Davis, of Sandys, was charged in Magistrates’ Court with the April 6 offence.The Field View Lane resident pleaded not guilty to stealing a case of sour cream and onion Pringles, a case of Kit Kats, a 5lb case of Snickers, a case of M&M’s, two 30lb cases of chicken legs and two cases of Evian.He further denied stealing four cases of Nirvana water, a case of apple juice, three cases of Coke, two 50lb boxes of potatoes, three 35-gallon bottles of vegetable oil, ten 4lb bags of sugar, a case of Planters peanuts, two cases of snapper, a case of tuna, six boxes of breaded chicken wings, a 5kg block of cheddar cheese and 12 bottles of Dole juice.The items had a total value of $1,392.86, the court heard.Senior Magistrate Archibald Warner released Mr Davis on $2,000 bail and adjourned the case until August 26.
