The ruling Progressive Labour Party (PLP) is staying tight-lipped on reports that Kingsley Tweed, a key figure in the 1959 theatre boycott movement, is on his way back to Bermuda and will address PLP supporters.

"I'm not in a position to talk about Kingsley Tweed at this point," said party spokesman Walter Roban.

Now an AME minister in England, Mr. Tweed left Bermuda four decades ago after receiving death threats.

A fiery orator he had been a key supporter of the theatre boycott who, with the late Comrade Richard Lynch, rallied the movement with speeches from a soapbox.

Filmmaker Errol Williams, who made the documentary `When Voices Rise', has jetted off to London to film his homecoming tomorrow.

And Mr. Tweed is expected to speak at the PLP's final "affirmation" rally on Tuesday.
