BSX soars 60 points

The Royal Gazette/Bermuda Stock Exchange Index yesterday moved up 60.44 points to 3,601.16.The total value of the shares investors bought and sold was $1.5 million, with 36,549 shares trading.The bulk of that came from Butterfield Bank investors where 35,509 shares traded while being pushed up $1.25 to $43.25.

Bermuda Commercial Bank saw 700 of its shares trade.
And investors in domestic insurer Argus Insurance Co. Ltd. traded 200 shares, with the shares closing up 25 cents to $26.50.
BF&M Ltd. saw 100 shares trade at $14.
