Pearman challenges at Open

Bermuda's leading golf pro Dwayne Pearman recently returned from two tournaments in the US where he competed alongside some of the top East Coast players.

At last week's Bangor Open, played on the par-69 Bangor Municipal course in Maine, the Ocean View head pro wound up in 11th place after shooting rounds of 71-68-67 in the 54-hole event.

A week earlier Pearman, who is sponsored by local businessman David Ezekiel, made the cut in the 36-hole New Hampshire Open with a first round of 71 but slipped on the final day to a 74.

Pearman's next overseas trip is expected to be for the World Cup qualifying event in late September when he and another player yet to be selected will represent Bermuda in Malaysia.
