A discussion organised by 100 Women in Finance gave members access to expert advice on financial planning, including a review of personal and pension investing and the importance of saving for the future.

It was led by panellists John Bonvetti, vice-president, private banker, at Butterfield Bank; Gillian Kersse, financial adviser, International Financial Planning Ltd; Carla Seely, vice-president, pension and investment, Freisenbruch-Meyer Insurance Services Ltd; and moderator Erin Williams, investment counsellor, Orbis Investments.

During the session, guests were encouraged to prioritise their financial health in 2019, sharing valuable tips on how to invest and how much to save, as well as budgeting for family and educational goals.

The event, sponsored by Orbis Investments, kicked off the first of a series of education events designed to offer a unique opportunity to develop through continued education.

Alison Morrison, advisory services at EY Bermuda and chairwoman of 100 Women in Finance in Bermuda said: “This topic was relevant to everyone who attended as each person was at a different stage in their working life and the panellists did a great job covering all aspects of financial planning at any age. We are particularly grateful to Orbis for offering to host and sponsor a series of educational events for our members.”

The next event in Orbis’ educational series will take place on Tuesday ahead of International Women’s Day. The session will feature seasoned female professionals, offering insight on their career path and the predictable challenges that women encounter in their journey to leadership roles and board positions.
