Aon Corp., the world?s second-biggest insurance broker, will increase awards for some Connecticut policyholders participating in a settlement over alleged kickbacks from insurers.
Aon acknowledged it ?mistakenly miscalculated? the settlements for municipalities including Hartford, Groton, and Fairfield, Attorney General Richard Blumenthal said in a statement yesterday. The Chicago-based company in March agreed to pay $190 million to settle accusations from three states that it had steered clients to insurers that paid hidden fees.
