Visitors robbed

Weapons-brandishing robbers broke into a St. George?s guest house and stole $800 from two visitors.

Police said the men, wearing red and white bandannas and carrying a wooden bat and a machete, broke into the room at 11 p.m. last Thursday and demanded money and a cell phone belonging to the visitors.

Police are appealing for any witnesses who saw two men wearing bandannas to contact them. The men were both described as five foot ten inches tall black males. Anyone who witnessed the incident is urged to call 297-1122.

There have been a number of guest properties targeted since June of this year. A Warwick guest house was broken into in early June and a man stole $500 while the tourist was in the room. In late July an unknown culprit stole a handbag from a Devonshire guest property while the victim slept. And in August visitors at a Paget guest property were out $1,400 after a thief broke into their room at night.
