yesterday charged with intent to defraud, and making false documents.

Roddelle Earlston Lightbourne, 30, pleaded guilty to six charges relating to a week in August when he used stolen cheques and attempted to purchase goods and receive cash back from the Market Place in Paget.

He was arrested on August 16 in Warwick and asked for a further nine charges against him to be taken into consideration.

Lightbourne told Senior Magistrate Archibald Warner that he did what he did for good reasons, but made bad choices.

He said he was trying to support his daughter but was laid off.

He expressed his desire to make retribution and said he was serving 14 months for traffic fines and removing a car.

In sentencing, Mr. Warner considered all his circumstances and guilty plea and his remorse but said he must also consider the additional matters he asked to be taken into consideration.

Mr. Warner then sentenced him to 12 months suspended for 24 months on each count, to run concurrently.
