Man beaten in Southampton attack
A Southampton man was beaten with a blunt object in an attack on Sunday evening, according to police.
A spokesman said the assault took place on a Middle Road, Southampton property at around 8.45pm.
“It appears that the victim, a 53-year-old man, encountered an unknown man on the property who reportedly struck the Southampton resident in the head with a blunt object,” said spokesman.
“The suspect, described as a dark skinned male approximately 6ft 3in to 6ft 6in tall wearing a greyish sweater with a hood over his head, then left the area in a dark coloured car.”
The victim was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital where he was treated for his injuries and released.
