Officers were called to a house in Paget yesterday following reports that a woman had been attacked. A man had apparently sexually assaulted the woman, then stabbed her husband after he walked into the house as the attack was taking place.

It is understood the husband was stabbed in the hand. The couple were taken to hospital for treatment but their condition is not known. The incident happened at 4.25 p.m. when the woman was alone in the house. It is not known how the man got in.

Police are looking for a man in his mid-20s to early 30s, clean shaven and with a clear complexion. He was wearing a black T-shirt and black jeans.
