A Pembroke man was released from hospital yesterday morning after being attacked by men with machetes.

Police reported that around 12.30 a.m. yesterday morning a small black Suzuki car with tinted windows stopped at the junction of St. Monica's Road and Glebe Road. When four men with machetes got out of the car, several other men standing in the area fled on foot.

One, a 21-year old Pembroke man, was unable to escape, and was struck by one of the culprits with the machete. He was taken to the hospital for treatment of injuries to his back, arm and leg, and later released.

The main suspect in the incident is described as a brown-skinned black male wearing a black head scarf, black baseball cap and black T-shirt. The driver of the suspects' vehicle is described as a light-skinned black male wearing a black baseball cap and a red shirt.
