St. George's town crier E Michael Jones yesterday postponed the boat parade set for July.

Mr. Jones said that due to the election being set for July 24, he thought a parade for July 19 was not in order.

Yesterday's announcement makes the second time the parade slated for St. George's has been called off. Last year was to be the first parade but Mr. Jones cancelled that event because of a lack of sponsorship.
