Ross Smith is pushing for St. George's to get all airport wharfage revenue and to lobby international companies to relocate to the Old Town if he becomes mayor.

Mr. Smith, a former alderman, is running against Town Crier E. Michael Jones, and Alderman Mariea Caisey for mayor. Businessman Terry Roberts is also considering running.

Mr. Smith said he also wanted Government to review the double taxation of residents of St. George's.

His plans to increase revenue include: the Old Town getting all revenue from the Airport wharfage; expanding the Corporation's boundaries to include the Marginal Wharf complex; discussions with Government and business about international companies coming to St. George's; and, developing the Club Med site to include an international business centre.

Mr. Smith wants to set up a think-tank to develop the town, and to have a Police plan to ensure the town is safe.

Mr. Smith finished third when he ran unsuccessfully against Henry Hayward for mayor in 2000. Mr. Jones was second.
