Where’s the personal touch?
December 12, 2012Dear Sir,I had to laugh at today’s story which quotes the Premier as saying “And I, when we are in the kitchens, the dining rooms and living rooms of the people ...”.Well, in 27 years in my present residence, I have seen one PLP candidate, Mr Anthony Richardson, where we were able to discuss and exchange views, so how can the PLP claim they listen?I guess they are listening to their own supporters. In fact, we went to vote in one election and my wife said to the lady in front of her to go ahead, and she told her she was the candidate. She had never seen her! It was the first and last time we saw her.More politicians should take the lead of John Barritt who visited his constituents on a regular basis and not just at election time. We did have a visit from a representative about four months ago, prior to the election being called, but have not seen hide nor hair of anyone since. All we are getting are e-mails and literature stuffed in the post box.If it wasn’t for the fact the current government has screwed up the finances of the country, are making blatant inaccurate claims and need to be replaced, I would not vote at all!ANTONY SIESEPaget
