April 18, 2011Dear Sir,I was self-employed for over 20 plus years and also employed well over 30 people for many years with full benefits and complied with all Government regulations. I had to close my business due to the downturn of the economy. In the last year I have applied for many jobs. Not one company made any response to my application for employment. I was never even asked to show up for an interview. Government as I understand discontinued health benefits to the unemployed segment of the Bermuda population. Please, please correct me if I am mistaken!So where can I get:n general health checkn dental examn mammogramn eye examn gynaecological exam, etc.And more critically a job? My savings will not last much longer. The saving were my retirement fund. I am re-tooling by training in another area but it will not pay me any income for quite some time. I own a car and have more than $500.00 in my bank so I cannot get assistance. Consider that my Belco bill is $100 a month, need BTC to contact possible employers, rent, food, etc. I do not have a Blackberry. I am frustrated. Any assistance out there?ELLIE JONESSt. George's
