Andrew Rippert joins Aspen Insurance

Andrew Rippert has joined Aspen Insurance Holdings Ltd, the Bermudian-based re/insurer, in the newly created role of EVP, head of mortgage.

Aspen said Mr Rippert joins the company with more than 20 years’ experience in shaping and building global mortgage insurance and reinsurance businesses and portfolios.

The company said Mr Rippert’s experience at Arch Capital saw him build and lead a mortgage credit business that was preeminent in the market.

His arrival at Aspen comes as it continues to focus on strategic and profitable growth opportunities across the group, the company said.

Mr Rippert will report to Christian Dunleavy, chief underwriting officer at Aspen Reinsurance, and will be a member of the reinsurance executive committee.

Mr Rippert said: “I am excited to join Aspen and work with Christian and the wider underwriting team.

“I look forward to using my experience, industry knowledge and network to further develop Aspen’s capabilities in the mortgage sector.”

Mr Dunleavy said: “I’m delighted to have Andrew join the team as we continue to focus on areas where expert underwriting and specific product expertise can deliver real value to our clients.
