Blaze causes structural damage to Devonshire home
A fire at a High Point Lane residence in Devonshire yesterday morning caused structural damage but no injuries.
Sgt. Wenda Godfrey of the Bermuda Fire Service said the report of the fire was received at 9.32 a.m. at 7 High Point Lane near Roberts Avenue.
At 9.39 a.m. she said four fire trucks and ten Fire Service personnel attended the scene of the fire at a two storey dwelling where fire caused damage to front room at the top level of the building.
The extent of the structural damage has not been confirmed but the contents of the dwelling were destroyed. The Fire Service also could not confirm the estimated cost of damage caused by the fire.
Five Service personnel with breathing fire apparatus brought the fire under control at 10.45 a.m. and 2,500 gallons of water was used to extinguish the fire.
