Chief Justice Austin Ward underwent heart surgery at overseas hospital yesterday.

Supreme Court Registrar Charlene Scott denied rumours that Mr. Ward, 67, had suffered a heart attack but she was unable to give an update on the scheduled operation at Johns Hopkins hospital in Baltimore during annual leave from his post.

The Royal Gazette understands Mr. Ward flew out last week for a triple-bypass.
